Meet Registration

We are pleased to offer online meet registration this year! It is so easy. Each swimmer (or their parents together with the swimmer) can get online and select the events they would like to swim in the next meet. In previous years, this was done verbally at the pool with the coaches.   You will have until midnight each Wednesday to register for Saturday's meet.

Register for meets here.

Website Accounts

Due to an upgrade, all accounts from last year have been erased. However, this year, the site no longer requires an account to view content. If you have something you would like to have included on the site, please contact Geoff Humphrey.

Handbook

The 2009 edition of the parent handbook is now available. Click here or use the button above to view it. You can download a printable copy at the bottom of the handbook page.

2010 Swim Team Info & Registration

03/08/2010
America/Denver

Registration for the Forest Park swim team will begin in April and will be online only again this year.  More information to follow later in March.  We are accepting new swimmers, from age 5-ish to age 18, if you live in a neighborhood that does not already have a RMSL swim team.  If you live in Highlands 460, Four Lakes, Highlands Ranch (because their teams are with MHSL) you are good to join our team!

We are a recreational team that emphasizes fun, discipline and improving swimming skills and times throughout the summer.   We will begin a developmental team this summer that includes younger swimmers, who are not able to swim a lap yet.  They will not swim in the meets, but will be instructed and developed as a young swimmer and possibly swim in a mini-meet.  When they are able, they may swim in a regular meet.  They may buy a team suit and be on the team.  Team suits are not mandatory, but will be changing slightly this year.  They will still be blue.   Most team suits are only sold for one year, then the style changes slightly.   Swimmers will be wearing last year's suits and this year's if they need to buy a new one.

Each family must volunteer at the meets or another special project to make this experience possible for the kids.  When you register, you will need to specify where and when you will volunteer.  Usually a family volunteers approximately 3 times or so.  This could be more, if needed.  We are needing a donation of a laptop computer this summer.  Contact us if you have one to donate for the meets.  We also need a computer person to take over the job for the team.

Stay tuned to the website for much more information to follow in March.  We look forward to a fun and exciting summer swimming for the Forest Park Blue Fins!

2009 season is over

Have a great year!  Hope to see you all in 2010!

Pirates Cove is Saturday, July 11th

Invite your friends and family to Pirate's Cove - Saturday, July 11th 6:45-8:45.   Park is closed to the public, open only to our swim team and guests.   It is our fundraiser and costs $10 per person, age 4 and up.  Bring food and drink, as concessions will be closed.   Pay cash at the door of Pirate's Cove to Lecia Ullrich.   This was REALLY fun last year and attended by many!  We made over $500 last year for our team.   This year we need a new lane rope holder, as our current one is broken, so some of the money we earn will go toward replacing that.

End of Season Party at the Pool, July 12th!

Sunday, July 12th at 7:00 p.m. at Forest Park Pool. Bring a dessert to share - one per family!  We'll have awards, coaches' speeches & gifts for swimmers from 7-8:00 and fun swimming in the pool until 10:00 p.m.   Bring a dessert, camp chairs, swim suit and towel for this last swim team activity of the summer!

Warm ups for prelims time & location changed

Wednesday (July 8th) and Thursday (July 9th), we will warm up at OUR OWN pool at 6:45 a.m. for warm ups (for 20 minutes or so), then drive immediately over to the hosting pool.  Wednesday it is Homestead and Thursday it is Heritage Greens.   We will not warm up at the prelim location due to their early lane assignment for our team.  It works out much easier for everyone to warm up at our pool.  See you then!

Practice times July 6th - July 10th

Practices are at 8 a.m. this week for all age groups, unless you are at your prelim.   For everyone not at prelims and going to finals, practice is 8-9:15 a.m. everyday this week at the pool.

Practice Times for June 29-July 2nd

Practice times have changed for this week only.

11-18 year olds 8-9:15 a.m.

10 & Unders  9:15-10:00 a.m.

No practice Friday, July 3rd.  Have a happy 4th!

2009 Volunteer Adjustments

There are a couple of adjustments I need to make with the volunteer schedule.

The shift times will be:

  • First shift: 8:00 am - 10:00 am
  • Second shift: 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
  • Third shift: 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

It is difficult to always hear the announcer, so please be aware of the time so you can be ready to jump in to your position at changeover time.

ALWAYS check in at the volunteer table at the BEGINNING of the meet, regardless of what shift you are working.

Because RMSL only uses one timer per lane, we need to provide one back up timer per shift for every meet. So, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator if you are willing to fill any of those slots. Include in your email which meet and shift you can work.

With the cards being handled differently than we are used to, we've determind that the system that we came up with on Saturday, May 31 will work best for us. Therefore, tehere will be one more person  scheduled per shift to pass out cards.

Again, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator if you can help out in that position. If we find that the heating area has too many volunteers, then we can adjust. I'd rather be prepared with too many then not enough!

Last but not least, to work as Stoke and Turn Judge or Clerk of Course you need to be qualified before the season begins. I apologize that this information was not stated during the registration process. If you are a qualified Clerk and can fill a position, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator.

Flexibility is key while we are settling into our new league.
